Grounds day has been lots of fun. We have potted plants by our classroom, helped tidy areas around school and our favourite activity was washing the astro turf for our football matches.
EGG ROLL
Year 5 had a fantastic Egg Roll heat this week. It was so close and the final 3 were decided with the very last roll. We are looking forward to the final this Friday!!
Nature Art
Year 5 used the natural resources found around school to make some amazing pieces of art.
APPLE CRUMBLE
Fox class have been learning about seasonal fruit and vegetables. We chose apples and decided to make apple crumble. We got to peel and chop the apples before making our yummy crumble topping. They look delicious!!
Painting with natural resources
Fox class made their own paint brushes from natural resources found around school. We then used these to paint pictures of nature.
Art Week !
This week in Fox class we have been looking at Niki De Saint Phalle and her amazing artwork. We had a go at producing our own Niki inspired sculptures. We also looked at how we can recycle old books through book folding. We created hedgehogs!
Mathopoly!
To help us practice our multiplication and division skills we had some games of Mathopoly. This is where we had to answer multiplication or division questions to score points around the board.
Our Trip To Winchester Science Centre
We had an amazing time exploring the science centre and Planetarium.
Line Drawing!
Fox class have been looking at different types of art. This week we have been looking at line drawing. They were not allowed to take their pencil off the page until they completed their picture. We tried to draw each other’s faces!
DT Fun!
Fox class have had lots of fun making Pneumatic machines over the course of 3 weeks. We spent time learning how Pneumatic’s work and had a go using syringes and tubing. They will be in our classroom if you want to come and look at our amazing work.
Holmbury to Leith Hill
Fox class had an amazing night away. We completed tracking and trailing in the woods then got some much needed sleep before our hike on Friday. The children were great and completed the hike to Leith Hill in record time. We were fascinated by the views we could see from both Holmbury Hill and Leith Hill. I am so proud of each and every one of them. Well done Fox class!!
Science Fun!
Fox class had lots of fun exploring friction. We raced cars down different surfaces to see which went further, the results shocked us all!
