Keeping Our Children Safe
SECURITY
We are naturally very committed to ensuring everyone who is involved in the life of Plaistow and Kirdford Primary School feels safe and secure. There are therefore a number of measures in operation to facilitate this:-
- During the school day visitors to the school are asked to register in the school office and wear a security lanyard or label.
- Children may be dropped off at school from 8.45am where a member of staff supervises each classroom. Parents are encouraged not to leave their children on the playground before this time.
- The doors and gates are secured at 9.00am. Visitors and pupils who are late are then asked to enter through the main door and sign in at the office.
- We ask that all children are collected from the class teacher and accompanied home unless they go home on the bus.
Emergency closure
In the event of an emergency closure children may have to be sent home. If so, you will be asked to collect them. Children will be looked after until contact is made.
If the school is closed, due to severe weather or similar emergency, we will try to contact all parents via our School Comms system using email and mobile phones. With this in mind it is essential that parents contact details are kept up to date at all times. Information on school closures is also announced on local radio stations.
